21 January 2003 - Happy New Year. There have been sessions since my last entry but mostly uneventful. The adult group seems to be growing every week as people from all over are inspired by this diary (ahem). Christmas took it's toll as too much of everything except exercise set me back a few weeks. The other mature male adult, who I will call "Ade" to protect the innocent, and I have decided that synchro may be too difficult so we decided to invite another adult, "Kev" to save his blushes, to join our team. This new event will be called, "Tag Team Trampolining". (Yes folks another first for WVTC!) Each member of the team participates in performing one routine. Ade and I will do the simple moves and Kev will do the hard ones. The real skill is in the hand over which must be completed without a pause in the routine. Ade is worried because his kids say "goodbye" every time he goes bouncing.

26 January 2003 - Not much happening in the way of serious bouncing today, but is there ever? However, a major break through as I have my first routine! What's more I finally got to use the Tariff Database and I can tell you it's great. If you don't know the First Routine (see right column) is worth 0.7. Also landed the full twist. Now all I have to do is stick in a tuck jump before each full twist, sorted!

28 January 2003 - Summi, summi, summi. That's right 3 summies all landed on the feet (OK and the mat). After the first success the coach told everyone to watch and stage fright ensured I splattered, nose first, on the end mat. But, after tweaking the amount of "bumthrust" (a technical term used by the coach to describe the act of inducing rotation) I managed two more reasonable landings. I can almost hear all the 7 year old grade 4's and above saying "So?". Well, hey this is a big deal for a Dad; 0 to somersault in 80 days. By the way, the rest of the adult group were inspiring tonight, well done everyone.
