First Steps 2 - Attire (or what to wear)

trampoline shoesTrampolining does not need any special clothing when you first start. You can wear shorts and t-shirts or even tracksuit bottoms if you are more comfortable.

The general rules are comfortable to allow movement but not "flapping", no buttons, zips or buckles and always socks or trampoline shoes. You don't want things that can get stuck in the trampoline webbing, especially toes!

trampoline pantsJewellry is definitely a no, no and long hair must be tied back so you can see what you're doing.

When you progress to competitions you are going to want to wear the correct gear and again this is not generally expensive. Guys should wear leotards (in club colours) and trampoline trousers known as "whites". These pants have stirrups and toe loops to stop the legs riding up and also to keep the correct form when performing those spectacular straight leg moves! Looks like the guy on the left has forgotten his socks!!

Hawkwind code 52202Ladies are generally required to wear a leotard for competitions. Shorties (tight fitting) may be worn over the leotard at some competitions but it's worth checking first. The range and style of leotards vary greatly but we are proud to be associated with Milano who make some of the best leotards out there, like the example on the right.

Socks and trampoline shoes should generally be white. This is so the judges can see those nice pointed toes!! (No, this does not infer that judges have bad eye sight but some sports halls can be dimly lit.)

Next, we go over the basic rules..."
