WVTC - Tariff Database - Help

Introduction

The Tariff Database has been designed to assist trampolinists and coaches in compiling competition routines. To use the database you must first register as all routines will be stored against your user name. Once you have registered you can begin to compile, store and calculate the tariff for a number of routines.

There are over 120 moves available on the database. You can add moves, or report bugs, by mailing the details to Terry.

Features

  • The Tariff Calculator and Database enables you to enter and store routines.
  • For each routine you have an accurate calculation of the tariff.
  • Unlimited routines can be stored against your Username.
  • Routines can be recalled and modified as your skills develop.
  • Print out your Tariff Sheet to hand into the Judges at competition.
  • Print out details of all your routines.
  • Search for a routine with a specific tariff.

How to Register

First you must REGISTER by entering a Username and valid e-mail address. If your chosen name has been taken you will be advised to choose another. Your password will be emailed to you but you can change this when you log on. REMEBER all Usernames and Passwords are CASE sensitive and it is best to always use lower case letters. Full name and Club name are also requested for entry on the printed Tariff Form.

You can also DELETE your details should you no longer wish to use the database. If you want to CHANGE your details, e.g. e-mail address or password, you can do so through the menu option when you are logged in.

Using the Database

On the Tariff Database form you can select from a pre-defined list of over 120 moves each move in your routine. Selecting moves automatically calculates the tariff for your routine. Completed routines can then be saved in the database for later recall or to compile your competition Tariff Sheet. There is an option to print out the routine which is in a suitable format to present to Judges at a competition.

NOTE - a valid routine contains 10 moves which are all different!

The next time you log on to the database you will be presented with a list of routines saved in your name that you can recall at the click of a mouse.

Using the right hand menu options you can maintain your user details, list all the trampolining moves, llist all your routines and find a routine for a certain tariff value.

If you experience problems using the database, or if you have suggestions for new features, you could e-mail Terry and I will try and help with your query.

How Tariffs are Calculated

Most trampoline moves involve a rotation about the lateral axis (somersault) and/or rotation about the longitudinal axis (twist). Tariff is a measure of the difficlulty of a move in terms of the amout of somersault and twist. The tariff for a move is calculatated like this;

  1. Each quarter turn in somersault is worth 0.1.
  2. For every complete somersault add 0.1. So a complete somersault is worth 4 x 0.1 + 0.1 = 0.5.
  3. For each somersault without twist in the straight leg position, i.e. straight or piked, add a further 0.1 bonus. So a front (P) is worth 4 X 0.1 + 0.1 +0.1 = 0.6 and a double front (P) is worth 1.2. Single somersaults with a twist do not qualify for the additional 0.1.
  4. For each half twist add 0.1. So a Barani (P) is worth 4 x 0.1 + 0.1(for a full somersault) + 0.1(for the half twist) = 0.6. Note no bonus for the straight legs because of the twist!
  5. Straight leg bonuses only apply to whole somersaults.
  6. For multiple somersaults in straight leg position (with or without twist) the maximum straight leg bonus is 0.2.
  7. An move which is repeated (no matter how complicated) is worth 0.
